It will look good and as you become proficient with Vray/Sketchup many times great. The big difference comes when you want to go for photo realism, where it becomes very tough for Sketchup to compete. It still looks more 'architectural' in Sketchup in the viewport, but it becomes easy to make presentation style graphics in Max as well. However, after using 3ds Max for a while it also becomes second nature and the time saved diminishes. It looks great and it is useful directly for presentations.

Sketchup is a great tool, and it is especially useful initially where its push/pull workflow makes it both easy and satisfying to design and develop a model. Only post your work if you are open to criticism. Posting other people's work is okay if you include credit. Work in progress renders are welcome but don't forget to mention it is a work in progress and be open to criticism. Please post your images on a site like Imgur rather than your personal website. Posting your own work is welcome, but please include some information (software, renderer etc.). All quotes and portfolio links should be kept to private messages though.
